I was bouncing around online, looking for a copy of the original Family Guy pilot, and I found this site, www.familyguyfiles.com, the self-proclaimed "Ultimate Family Guy Database." The gentleman who runs this site was apparently dissatisfied with the audio commentaries provided on the DVDs that were just released, so he - well, here are his words:

I was sort of disappointed that the DVD commentaries didn't contain a lot of reference explanation, so I decided to take a stab at making a more reference oriented commentary.

That's right, he recorded his own commentary for someone else's show. And it is the most condescending piece of tripe I've heard since the last time I heard a condescending piece of tripe. This guy basically explains each joke as it happens, because the rest of us are so clearly in the dark and need his hand-holding to enjoy a flipping TV show.

Here's a clip of his commentary for the episode "Wasted Talent":

Wasn't that helpful? Talk about sucking the fun out of something.

Not to be outdone, I've recorded my own commentary for Family Guy. I think I cover some of the details that were so sorely missing from the one above.

Here's my clip:

Ah, I feel so much better about myself when I overexplain the obvious to people I assume to be stupid. I think I'm gonna to talk down to my wife or maybe even kick a small dog.
