I know many say that Dunkin' Donuts is just as good and way cheaper but... their Cinnamon Dolce Latte is divine.

Music Review: Other Songs and Dances Volume One
Rating:5 star(s)

How interesting that Shane should post a review of a cd by someone from Nyack at the same time as I was planning on doing one...

I'll admit to the fact that I'm on myspace. If you have an account there, you know you'll get an invite from just about every new musician in your area so it didn't surprise me to see "Other Songs and Dances Volume One" wants to be friends with you in my inbox. Before my finger could click the deny button, something inside me told me to check it out... I headed over to their profile and was pleasantly surprised to see Backlight Records (a.k.a Steve Velardo and Peter Field) "Other Songs and Dances Volume One".

I ordered my cd as soon as I saw the link for the store...knowing what a phenominal musician Peter is, I had no doubt that the whole cd would be filled with quality music. OSAD1 is definately one of those cds that help you unwind after a busy day and if you don't believe me, check it out for yourself:

Now it could be that I have a biased opinion about this cd because of the producers and artists on this compilation, but I truly believe that OSAD Vol.1 is a beautiful work of art. The first track, "Better Days" by Jeff Dueck, is just well, for lack of better words, peaceful and calming. I always loved when Jeff played during our chapels and listening to his song made me remember those days. "City Lights" is classic Peter...blending rhythms and genres you think would never work together but it does, and it's goooood

Do yourself a favor and order this OSAD1, your soul will thank you for it:

I think I can hear Coco purring from here,, she's growling...

If ever a male version of Coco existed, Lewis the cat fits the description. Furry and cranky.
Lewis has a rap sheet for being a "bad cat" in his Fairfield community. He has two restraining orders and now, his owner is going to court to literally fight for his life. Here's a thought, if his owner kept him in the house after the first "attack", he wouldn't be in such hot water now. Dur!
